Hannah Swensen is the epitome of a contemporary cozy heroine. She finds more dead bodies than most policemen will ever see in their entire career. She doesn't trust the police to do their jobs without her help. She has goofy relatives and friends that help her in her pursuits. She lives in a small town. She cooks.
In Strawberry Shortcake Murder Hannah is helping to judge a bake-off being held in her hometown of Lake Eden. The high school coach is also a judge and a major jerk. When he's found dead, however, Hannah does want to make sure the wrong person isn't arrested for his murder. She sets out to find the killer herself.
This is such a pleasant cozy read. Having lived in the Great White North, I can feel the cold weather that Lake Eden is having and I think that this would be the perfect book to curl up with on one of their wintery evenings.
